Hello! My name is Casey, and I stumbled upon yoga less than half a year ago. At that time, I had no idea how much it would benefit and impact my life. It was clear that my typical high school student lifestyle of studying at a desk day and night was lacking an element of exercise, so I decided to turn to yoga. It seemed like an activity I could manage and I thought to myself 'how hard can it be to just stand in a simple pose for a few moments?' (I know right- how naive of me).

Before I started classes at Zenergy, I never had any experience with the practice of yoga. When I stepped into the studio, I doubted how well a beginner like myself could manage in a class full of people who were more experienced. However, after my first class, I realized that there was nothing to worry about- from the friendly and approachable instructors to the supportive environment, Zenergy is a place where I feel comfortable challenging myself and trying new things.

With time, I also learned that yoga is not about how flexible or well-balanced you are compared to others, but rather how much you can improve yourself. This lesson became something that I carry with me throughout my everyday life. I'm beginning to focus more on my own growth instead of judging myself against the standards of everyone else.

Although my yoga journey had just begun, I can already notice the positive impacts that regular practice has made on my life. Being the easily stressed teenager that I am, my mind often feels overcrowded with thoughts and deadlines. Regardless of how tired I feel as I enter the studio, I am able to find a moment of calm and peace as I begin to focus on my breathing and my body each class. It feels amazing to be able to return to my studies with a clear mind after practice.

Yoga has already taught me so much about myself and my body, but I'm sure there are still more lessons to be learned- I can't wait to see what I will discover next!
