My yoga journey began about four years ago when I was living in Kingston, ON attending Queen’s University. A friend introduced me to yoga-by-donation studio and I immediately fell in love with it! Especially while attending school, it was a great way to relieve stress and take time to remind myself to breathe. I tried to spend as many evenings at the studio as I could, often attending with friends and housemates. Even though yoga is often thought of as a personal practice, being able to share that time on my mat alongside my friends was very rewarding to me.

Upon graduation, I moved back home to Toronto. I began my search for a yoga studio in the neighbourhood, but this was proving to be a difficult task. That summer, I heard about Zenergy and started researching/Facebooking/Googling it to get any information I could – I couldn’t believe how close it was going to be to my home. Sure enough, I was there on opening day in August and am proud to say I have been practicing there ever since!

My journey at Zenergy has been wonderful. It has allowed me to continue and improve my yoga practice in Toronto. As I now have a full-time office job, I am certainly noticing the physical effects of a sedentary work lifestyle. Attending class allows me to stretch out those areas that become so tight and off-balance throughout my day, especially the yoga tune-up class (I had to purchase my own pair of therapy balls because I craved the relief they gave me!). Not only do I crave the physical relief, but the mental/emotional relief as well – attending Zenergy is often a humbling reminder to find gratitude throughout my day/week/month.

I am looking forward to seeing where my Zenergy journey will take me next! The community that has been built is incredible and I am very happy to be a part of it.
